It must be almost a year since I was made a founding member of this group. To be included is the highlight of my Wedding Photography career.
Do you think I’ve made one blog entry in this time? Nope. I’ve been too busy shooting, and surfing, and spending time with my family.
So here down under, we’ve got a new wedding photography season beginning (not too many people get married in the winter months down south here), and with that comes a personal obligation to get some shots up on this precious space.
This is Hollee and Charles. They got married at Terrara House on the NSW South Coast in Australia here. I’ll otherwise let the shots tell the story. The date – August 15, 2010.

Like to say your wedding images are awesome. Great candid and natural photos using available light.
The photography work is highly credible and stylish. Cheers from Perry in Sydney
Love the first road out of focus shot, great lines.. infact, loving the movement and blur in al the ones with movement and blur! Thanks again Dean
And I’m so glad that you did join this amazing blog site. Your work is incredible.
The black and white photo of the classic car out in the country is so cool.
That black and white photo of the flower girl and ring bearer is worth a million words — especially the dirt (or is it grass stains) on the little boy’s knees and the little girl’s dress. And I can see she also took her shoes off. And fun was had by all!
so nice to get such kind feedback – thank you all
You saved the best for last. Your last image is absolutely spectacular! Thanks so much … looking so forward to more posts from you.
What an absolute delight to find a NEW and excellent and wonderful top photographer in these blog postings. I visit this site daily (okay, sometimes only weekly) and am astounded by the spectacular photography everytime I view this blog. So, so, very glad that Dean Dampney has joined this amazing group. Dean, your photography is absolutely beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing.
Your very last image is not only awesome but inspiring. Love it, and all your photos. Thanks.
Beautiful, beautiful work! Love each and every shot … you captured the full day magnificently.
I love the picture of the bride in the mirror … the lighting … the angles … nice!
That first photograph is the best — the bride getting ready with the poster of different models.
#4 is incredible — the beautiful bride in the mirror. Oh, I just have to mention that I really liked all of your photos — angles, images, lighting — brilliant!
Okay … something about photo #2 is totally captivating me. It appears to be a bridesmaid (and/or matron of honor) removing her ring for the ceremony, but I would really appreciate your summary of this photo. That bridesmaid (matron) is absolutely humble and gorgeous … and I can’t move on until I know the significance of her gesture. Kindly shed some light on the subject. Thanks. Deb
The faded imagery in the forth image from the bottom is wonderful.
Hi Deb, she is absolutely humble and gorgeous. She was the Matron of Honor, and this was a contemplative moment that she would have been unaware that I captured. I too was unaware consciously at least, of the ring gesture, and indeed it’s significance.
The shot of the couple by the pool is spectacular!
Besides the great wedding photos, you are captivated me with the magnificence of the NSW South Coast in Australia.
Dean … thanks so much for your summary of that brilliant photo. A keepsake for sure … will keep many artistic observers in contemplative thoughts and conversation.
Image Number 5 was pure artistry. Way to Go!!!
Wonderful wedding story from beginning to end — from the natural shot of the little boy with his head against the pew during the ceremony — to the spectacular shot of the bride and groom beside the pool (gorgeous colors and awesome lighting and reflection).
Loved your first post — a splendid wedding story!
Fantastic imagery! Maia
The lighting and the angles in the very last photo is brilliant.
My goodness .. I can certainly understand why you have been voted in as one of the world’s best photographers. Your work is articulate and amazing. Kudos to you!
